About Me

I’ve always felt like I could see things others couldn’t — the quiet tension between light and shadow, the stories tucked inside the atmosphere.
I first began experimenting with photography at 13 or 14, using my dad’s old smartphone — taking photos just so I could edit them, chasing a feeling I couldn’t yet name. Then came a small Canon Powershot my parents bought for a trip. I carried it everywhere: on walks, to the park, camping — anywhere wonder could be found. Over time, I began to hone my skills and realized how deeply photography resonated with me.
I later studied photography at Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny, Iowa, earning two certifications while exploring studio, commercial, portrait, and travel work. Just as important were the road trips — pushing me creatively and helping me understand why I love photography.
I’m drawn to capturing mood — the emotion that lingers in a landscape, the poetry of a fleeting moment. In my work with others, I focus on authenticity and feeling — preserving what can’t always be put into words.

I share my days with my apricot-colored poodle, Finley. You can usually find me in a local coffee shop, a small-town market, somewhere steeped in history, or out in the prairies and woods. I’m often lost in daydreams — noticing the shadows cast by leaves, the movement of clouds, tall grass swaying, reflections in water.

Creativity has always been my compass. I’ve drawn, painted, crafted, and written songs and stories for as long as I can remember. I published my first poetry book at 21 and am currently working on another. Whether through words or images, I’m drawn to capturing what’s real — the feeling that lingers long after the shutter clicks.
